Activities and Announcements Alumnus of Distinction AwardThe current Committee is accepting nominations for the Alumnus of Distinction Award. We think that this could be an annual award given to a Wales-Lincoln graduate/alumnus that displayed an achievement above and beyond the "normal". The achievement could have come in business, sports, arts, chartiable activities, education, etc. We feel that there are many that have reached levels far above the awareness of most of the Wales-Lincoln school attendees. The winner will receive a handsome plaque, as well as being included on an in-house plaque that would have each year's winner. The in-house plaque would be displayed in the "Old Schools Hallway" at the Montgomery County History Center. To give us your thoughts and/or nominations (by 5/2/11), click here Afternoon Gathering? A few years back (2006 to be exact), we had the building and the kitchen for the entire day. We had folks coming and going most of the day. The ladies of the Class of '56 met there at 1:00pm for lunch and had a grand time. Several members of the Fuller Family met there and took the time to setup a grand display of the photos and aritfacts that they had. The golfers made it in to lunch between 2 and 3. We had several folks that made in the afternoon that had conflicts with the evening schedule. We would like to get your thoughts on whether or not this would be of interest in the future - or even this year if there is enough interest. And of by the way, THE LUNCH WAS FREE! Please give us your feedback. Display Pictures, Memoribilia, Artifacts From one banquet to the next, we have had varying amounts of displays. It is the findings of the current committee that this is indeed a very popular reason for attending a banquet. This year we wanted to make a dedicated effort to request anyone and everyone to display what items that they may still posses that would bring back some memories to others in attendence. Give us your feedback if you would be willing to provide aritfacts to put on display. Sidebar: Wales-Lincoln has representatives on the Old Schools Committee that are working with other Montgomery County School's Alumnus to aid and support The Montgomery County History Center in their deditated effort to gather and display items and artifacts from ALL the county schools.
